• USFA Releases New Firefighter Autopsy Protocol   Posted May 21, 2008
  The U.S. Fire Administration (USFA) has issued an updated version of the Firefighter Autopsy Protocol manual, which was original released in 1994. The new Protocol addresses additional areas of information and considers emerging issues and new technologies for conducting autopsies.

• Katrina Relief Fund: NVFC Establishes Emergency Relief Fund for Fire Departments
  The National Volunteer Fire Council (NVFC) has established an Emergency Relief Fund to aid fire departments who have been impacted by Hurricane Katrina. The NVFC is working with its state member fire associations to identify departments in need. The Fund will focus relief efforts toward equipment and facility repair and replacement to allow departments to become fully operational in a timely manner.
  
  Checks will be issued to departments once specific needs are identified and donations have been made to the Fund. Contributions are tax-deductible. NVFC is donating all administrative costs associated with the Fund.
